havelock

on the first weekend of july, joanne, a friend marie knows through work, and her "chum" (= m., quebecois for boyfriend or husband) pierre invited us to spend a few days at their home in havelock. havelock is a tiny village some 6 km from the united states border. their domain was impressive in its beauty and size. we spent two days of absolute relaxation, enjoying the simple things in life like alcohol, a golf cart and a swimming pool.

white tee

i'm not a trendwatcher, but in philly it was impossible to ignore the latest hiphop fashion: long white t-shirts aka white tees. "long" means xxxxxlarge (sometimes even up to 6 times "x"). and white means: no logo, no text, nothing. it's a very intriguing sort of 'anti-fashion', also because almost every black guy was wearing it. in a multicultural city like philly those white tees were omnipresent.

philly

at last our long awaited weekend in philadelphia arrived! on the last weekend of june, also the québec national holiday, philly was the place to be. the event: mat and shannon's wedding at the seaport museum! and to us - accompanied by two genuine montreal babes - also the occasion to visit another american city that happens to be the cradle of the united states. philly is also known for the liberty bell, cheesesteaks, rocky running up the stairs of its museum of art (obviously we had to the same), and last but not least, shannon's hometown. thanks to native philadelphian damien we'll also remember philly for sabrina's, famous for their great brunches and their one hour queues.
