flora

a couple of weeks ago we visited the "international flora montreal 2006", a garden showcase "bringing together the latest trends in the art of gardening and landscaping". the exhibition is located near the old and deteriorating silo at the 'vieux port', which turned out to be a nice contrast with the carefully designed gardens. since it was the exhibition's opening weekend, lots of free invitations were going around. we were lucky enough to get a hold of four of them! isabel and david, straight from new york city, were spending a weekend in montreal and joined us during our garden walk. after flora the four of us watched the first fireworks of montreal's yearly international firework competition.
