names like céline dion, bryan adams and neil young are strongly connected to canada. but this stay in montréal reminds me that quite a few other established artists are from canada and even from montréal. mylene farmer was born in montréal, daniel lanois was born in québec and rufus wainwright spent most of his childhood in montréal. now, with montréal bands like the arcade fire and the wolf parade conquering the world, bbc radio 1 made a half hour long documentary about the music scene over here. click here to listen. the interviews are interesting, but bbc's steve lamacq just gets a little bit too excited about the "hottest music scene at the moment".
