which doesn't mean that nothing has changed since january the first. papers in montréal reported about the new parental insurance plan. mothers-to-be who were about to give birth around the end of 2005, had a good reason to wait until 2006. also: tickets for the metro became more expensive. hopefully they will use the extra money to fix the escalator at laurier station (it was supposed to be finished in december, but they have changed the deadline to january 2006 now). one passenger is not very optimistic about it, as you can see on the picture.
